  • Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Visitors Center and Monetary Museum

    Take a self-guided tour of this monetary museum located in the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Exhibits cover the history of money and the Federal Reserve’s role in the economy. Visitors can also view the bank’s automated vault and cash processing areas where up to $10 million worth of currency is shredded daily. M-F 9 am-4 pm. Free admission.

  • Fernbank Museum of Natural History

    One of the largest natural history museums south of the Smithsonian. The centerpiece is Giants of the Mesozoic, the world’s only collection of skeletons of the world’s largest dinosaurs. Conveyed in Clay: Stories from St. Catherines Island, a new permanent exhibit features objects recovered from archaeological work on the island. On temporary exhibit are: Ends of the Earth: From Polar Bears to Penguins, an interactive exhibit which explores the Arctic and the Antarctic; and Penguins of the Antarctic: A Photographic Expedition, with 90 color photographs by J.J. L’Heureux. Through Jan. 2. An IMAX theater and a cafeteria are also on premises. M-Sa 10 am-5 pm, Su noon-5 pm. Adults $15, seniors $14, children 12 and under $13.
