  • Cabbagetown

    This one-time mill town, now a neighborhood of colorful, closely packed shotgun mill houses, is one of Atlanta's rediscovered neighborhoods. It is the oldest industrial settlement in Atlanta, and was originally the home of Atlanta Rolling Mill, which was burned during the Atlanta Campaign.

  • Candler Park

    This neighborhood was a Union camp during the Civil War and its own city until 1908. The hilly park in the middle of the neighborhood has a par-three, nine-hole public golf course, and the small, thriving business district has eclectic boutiques and restaurants.

  • Castleberry Hill

    This gentrified neighborhood is on the National Registry of Historic Places. The mostly 20th century buildings are the setting for one of the hottest art scenes in the city.

  • Centennial Olympic Park

    This 21-acre park, with inscribed bricks, the Fountain of Rings and sculptures, is a permanent legacy to the 1996 Olympic games. Check for weekly events.

  • Chamblee

    The South's largest and most unusual antiques district, Chamblee's Antique Row features more than 200 merchants and dealers hawking everything from Depression-era glass to Americana and furniture. www.antiquerow.com.

  • Chastain Park

    This 260-acre park is home to a golf course, an arts center, a horse park, an amphitheatre, ball fields, a gym, a swim center, and walking and running paths. Open daily dawn to dusk.

  • Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area

    Hiking trails and picnic areas dot a 48-mile stretch of the Chattahoochee River. Open daily dawn to dusk.

  • City Pass

    One pass gets you into six major city attractions for a fraction of the individual ticket prices. Passes are valid for nine days. Adults $69, children $49. Available at Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, High Museum of Art, CNN, Fernbank Museum, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Zoo Atlanta and The Atlanta History Center.

  • City Segway Tours

    Zip through Downtown and see the attractions while cruising on a Segway. Tours are daily at 10 am&2 pm; ghost tours nightly at 7 pm. Day tours (three hours) $70, evening tours (two hours) $60. Riders must be at least 12 years old. Reservations required.

  • College Park

    Businesses are located in historic buildings, and most of the homes are landmarks in this city that was almost an airport runway. Located north of Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, College Park has nearly 900 structures listed on the Historic Register.
