    The town, which predates the city of Atlanta, was home to the city's most affluent African Americans around the turn of the 20th century. The culturally diverse neighborhood has been restored and includes the Wren's Nest, Westview Cemetery, the Herndon Home, Hammonds House Galleries and the Atlanta University Center complex of six historic black colleges and universities.
